Anyone tried the needle and thread or pendulum test to work out the gender?

I saw my nans sister by chance today and she told me what they used to do to guess the gender of the baby..

She said they would thread some cotton through the eye of the needle, hold the needle in your fingers so the thread hangs down over your bump..

Then if the thread goes in circles its a girl and if it swings backwards and forwards its a boy

Or the same but with a pendulum on a chain

I'd like to try it out then see if it guessed correctly!!

My friends did it on me using their wedding ring on a piece of string, it didn't do much at first then it started going in circles that got bigger, so we'll see if it's ight! Apparently they did it for all 3 of their kids and each time it was right! X

I thought this was just an Italian old wives tale - my grandmother used to do this for all the pregnant women around town! My understanding is that someone else should hold the string & the ring should be yours.

My mom did it on me with the needle and thread and it predicted a girl. Sure enough I was told by the tech that I'm having a girl! The chinese predictor got it wrong though. haha

I used the 'ring on a string' method. It went in circles both times and I had boys!

Will be giving this a whirl... what's the script with it? Is it back and forth is a girl and circles is boys?
