Its weird, for my scan they said they get the best results on an empty bladder! Woo! So hopefully I'll be able to enjoy the scan rather than thinking im gonna pee myself...

I do wonder why you need a full bladder... I always remember when I wasn't pregnant, I needed a scan as they suspected I had PCOS, I was meant to drink a pint of water, but didn;t read the instructions and had a pee just before the scan...The lady never said anything and diagnosed me with PCOS regardless of my empty bladder!! Sooo it does make you wonder?!

Good luck with your scan hunni! xx

Holding was so hard for me. The tech told me that he can tell who actually followed the direction by the panic in their eyes.

They tell you to have a full bladder because it pushes your uterus forward, and for most women that gives a clearer image when they are scanning.

I was told (but I can't remember who by), that larger ladies need to be more vigilant about drinking enough, because they are already at a disadvantage having to be scanned through the flab.

If they can't get a good view, the dreaded internal scan comes into play - the thought of that was enough to keep me holding it long enough!
