can i rant again about friend

sorry here again ranting. but when i tell hubby he just says "i dont understand who gives a s***" aaarg

anyway one of my friends posted on facebook "please god give me a child". This friend of mine had a dog for a long time and treated her dog like her baby.

this reminded me of my other friend, who is so insensitive... and always talks about this (even our guy friends are getting nuts about this comment). she always says americans are crazy coz they rather want animals than kids. (non of us is american but i feel like she is talking about my friends who all they got is their hubby and pets). I ALWAYS tell her, you know there are people who just cannot have kids, and ofcourse dont wanna tell the whole world about it, and maybe find a little more comfort in life by having pets. (i also have pets, i would die without pets, they are the only thing that reminds me of loyal and trust). and she replies "no they just dont want kids". im like "how do you know, i have like 10 friends who cant have kids and have 10 dogs instead, but doesnt matter how many dogs they get it wont fill that lonely feeling"

aaarg too long ... sorry just annoyed. and feel for my other friends who have it hard.

That's a strange thing to say I think. I hear a lot of negative stereotypes about Americans, but this one is new! Even if people don't want kids it doesn't make them crazy, and of course some people just can't have them and find some comfort in having pets instead - or as well. I would just ignore your friend, she obviously hasn't got her facts right!

Wow! Was she drunk??? At least that might be an excuse Fancy judging people when you have no idea of how they tick or what's going on their lives?! Seems a little naive to me.

I have to say, i learnt after having an MMC that if you ever see a couple who you think would make great parents or they are just at that stage in life then you should NEVER NEVER ask them if they are a)trying or b) if they even want kids as so many people have issues conceiving it is untrue (especially when we hit our 30's). I have seen how friends lie and say 'oh, we're happy as we are, we're not really trying and if it happens it happens' when really you can see they are covering up for the pain. My friend who's undergoing fertility tests at the mo is a big one for the cover up and i don't blame her cos we can all see how clucky she is and how much it hurts her not be a mummy yet. nature can be so cruel.

Funnily enough when you mentioned dogs it made me laugh as another friend who also had an MC called me up shortly after it and we chatted and she actually said 'you know what, if we can't have babies then i'd love to get a nice dog, that's what i'll do' and i laughed and said 'me too!'.

M X
