Does the first midwife appointment really take 45mins? what do they do?
The thing is I start a new job on the 1st and got midwife on 12th I know they have to give me time off for appointments but I dont really want to take advantage and make them feel like i never work. I will be 9weeks when i go.

I'm Currently Feeling:
I had mine yesterday (im also 9 weeks) and it was boring!! All they do is give you your maternity record book and fill it out with you, ask lots of questions, take some bloods and urine and weigh you. Mine took about 35-40 mins....
Mine was 20 mins! They were really running late as my appointment should have been 2pm and I didn't get in till 2.45pm and was panicking as I had to leave by 3.05pm to do the school run (I work as a nanny). Anyway I walked in and the midwife apologised and I said "that's fine but how fast can you do the booking in as I have 20 mins?" she replied "I'll give it a go!". Well it was the fastest booking in appointment ever and even the midwife said that! She said she needed a rest after that! Lol! x
Mine took quite a while. Maybe about 20 mins because you get asked a lot of questions on your families medical history and that of your OH as well as blood & urine tests and you get measured and weighed.
