Did i hear my babies heart beat?

Hello ladies,

Well i brought a doppler last week and up until last night couldnt pick anything up. NOTHING.

Well OH got it out last night to have a play, i thought he was wasting his time as still so early but then..... i heard it. I tiny heart beat (i think) it sounded like mine but not as strong or as loud but it was there and easily identifiable.

Only thing that made me think ummmm.... was the fact the probe to the doppler was placed one inch below my belly button to the left. Isnt this too high up to be the position of the baby? If i moved it either side i would loose the heart beat and had to put it back to where it was.

Did i get excited over nothing?

Any thoughts much appreciated. Be truthful and tell me if im being a twit. lol,

xxx

No, I think it might be heartbeat!!! I just googled this and apparently. The baby's heart starts beating at about 6 weeks gestation. So it very well may be your baby!!!

to be honest hun a inch below you belly button is wayyyyyyy to high for baby right now, until approx 12 weeks your uterus is still behind your pubic bone. when i find my baby's heart beat i have to have the doppler right on my bikini line then angle it downwards to try get kinda 'behind' the bone, also baby's heartbeat would be approx twice as fast as yours

HTH

It sounds like you might have picked but a vessel of some kind

Buttonnose i thought it was too good to be true. it sounded faster than mine, i would say twice as fast but quieter if that make sense. Like not as strong. Oh im gutted now. Will just have to keep trying i guess.
