Swine Flu Vaccine

Just wondered if any of you have been offered the swine flu vaccine yet & if so at what stage?

I understand that some of you will be against this vaccine - but personally I would like to have it asap (so I'm not asking for your advice as to whether I should or shouldn't as I know that I want it).

Anyone know when we're allowed to have it?

Thanks ladies

I'm not sure actually, but I got a letter last week inviting me for it....you have reminded me to call the doctors and enquire!!!! lol
Call your GP and I'm sure they'll be able to say.

Congrats on your pregnancy by the way!!! x

I'm wanting this vaccine too, but am going to wait until I'm at least 12 weeks before having it.
My son aged 3 has had it already, but my older daughter aged 5 1/2 hasn't, would she be having it done too now I'm pregnant?

hi hun. Had the vaccine at 15wks, I'm 30wks pregnant with very healthy twin boys now.

I waited til after 1st trimester tho, because that was recommended in the patient info sheet. Only side effect was bloody painful lump on my arm - my two kids had the same. They're 7 and 5 and had no ill effects.

I also had seasonal flu jab x

Thank you ladies

My children had their jab just after x-mas with no side effects at all. The doctor called to ask if we wanted our youngest (who's 3) to have it, but didn't mention my eldest who is 5 and a half so I asked if she could have it too & they said that was fine.

Got my widwife appointment next week so I'll see what she says with regards to waiting until after 12 weeks.

Thanks again

Hi Hun, if you'd like her to have it then if I were you I'd ask your GP - my 3 year old was offered it, but I had to ask for my 5 and a half year old, they said it was fine for her to have it too. Neither of my girls had any side effects at all and now I do not worry every time they have a runny nose
