I am currently 5 weeks 3 days, and took my test on 17th Feb. Rang my doctors to make an appointment on Monday (22nd), and said that I had taken two positive pregnancy tests and what do I do now. The receptionist said I didnt need to see doctor, and to drop in a urine sample, which I did on Tuesday. Im still waiting to hear from them. Is this normal, I feel like Im being fobbed off...
Usually, you have to ring up to get results. They should have had them for a few days! I did my test on a Monday, and was asked to ring after 12pm the Wednesday after to get the results.

I wish my gp would have given me more than half a glance! I was in and out in 5 minutes if not less.... it literally went like this

me: I've found out I'm pregnant
doctor: when was your last period
Me: 30th january
doctor: pulls out little rotating card thing and gives EDD based on LMP
me: whats the next step?
doctor: I'll email the midwife in bugle and they will be in touch at around 8 weeks, here is a sheet on food
me: asked about symptoms and my stomach hurting for a while now, started about 3 months before I got pregnant and she still said its probably due to the pregnancy......

and I was sent on my way!!! sorry for the long post

I've got my first docs appointment on Monday... I'll be 4+5 at that point

I'm eager (probably too much so...) to ask about these period pains Ive been getting and I've also had brown CM... I'ev heard that could be ectopic so I'm hoping and praying it isn't and that it's all completely normal!!!

XxX

I have to say since starting this TTC journey i have become very disillusioned by doctors and the NHS. When i got my they didnt care and i was in and out in about a min! Then when i had my MC and was in hospital again no one seemed to care and the right arm didnt seem to know what the left arm was doing. My blood results took ages to come back and then they did clearly no one had read my notes and informed my my HCG levels were going down so i should MC carry soon which was good . . . This was the 1st i had heard that i was going to MC.

Then we went to the doctors again as we have been TTC since Oct 08 and it was a year since my again they didnt want to know and no help was offered. They said we were young so keep trying and come back in DEC if still TTC.

I have now moved doctors but i doubt there will be much difference with these ones either TBH, but we shall see. I will be calling on Monday to make an appointment, i do want to take to them about my MC and the fact i have been on a slim fast diet for the past 2 months so i need to know how much i should increas my Kcal intake to with out over doing it.

In my experience with ds and this one the doctor just takes your word for it as the tests you can buy now are just as reliable as the ones they use. I was just told to make an appointment with midwife but that isn't until 24th march which seems rather a long time to me.

That's aweful!! I know what you mean TBH, our local maternity service is suposed to be one of the best in the country but you could have fooled me!! I couldn't believe when my GP said that it was impossible for me to be pregnant so soon after M/C, oh no it isn't unless all these dozens of tests are wrong lol.

I got the 'you're still young' blah too. It supposedly takes on adverage 18 months to conceive, anything over that you should get some help xx
