I have just phoned my Docs, I was going to leave it a bit as I am not even 4 weeks till monday, but then some on here said there may be a wait for an appointment so I thought I would ask.
I have to go see the Doc on monday, once he confirms it I can book in with the midwife at 8 weeks

hiya,

i just went to the doctors with the HPT with the positive that was enough for them. Then i had to book a midwife appointment i wasnt sure how far i was on but they saw me anyway and got me notes and a scan appointment pretty quick.

Hi,

I phoned my local medical practice and said that I'm pregnant and wondered what next step was. They told me I had to see a doctor. Saw the doctor, she didn't do any tests just took my word for it. Then she said a midwife would call me to arrange a booking in appointment. It must be different for different regions.

Thanks everyone for your replies!!

I had taken (no kidding) 7 HPTs with me, one being a clear blue digital one. I pointed out that the 1-2weeks meant from conception, not from LMP. I'll be technically half way through my first trimester by the time he confirms it!! I worked out that I will be 7 weeks :/

My mum has offered to come with me next week as doctor is scared of her. It's a sorry state of affairs though when a grown woman has to take her mother with her to sort out the doctor lol!!

I know that I can't get a m/w appointment for a while yet but I want to just get the ball rolling a little. I want to know that I'm being taken seriously too which I don't feel at the moment.xx

I'm in the US, so I didn't talk to a doctor at all. Just looked up the local midwife/obgyn office near me and gave them a call. They took my word for it that I had tested and was pregnant.

I've not seen the doctor yet, which is annoying me.
I am currently 5 weeks 3 days, and took my test on 17th Feb. Rang my doctors to make an appointment on Monday (22nd), and said that I had taken two positive pregnancy tests and what do I do now. The receptionist said I didnt need to see doctor, and to drop in a urine sample, which I did on Tuesday. Im still waiting to hear from them. Is this normal, I feel like Im being fobbed off...
