I had a miscarriage =[ im so angry with how the doctor treated me

Friday morning i started to get this really sharp pains in my abdomen and a few hours later there was some light bleeding i wasnt worried at first a lot of people seem to have a little bleeding but later as the day went on it turned from light to heavy so i rang up my doctor and asked what i do as id never been pregnant before i had no idea what to do when losing it =[ he reply was its probably nothing i get woman ringing me up all the time saying there bleeding and its not as bad as they make out i nearly chucked the phone at wall not every woman is the same then he told me to just go lay down for a while.

Must of been about 5 o clock i was really worried id spent the last few hours crying in bed so when my oh came home from work i made him take me straight to our local hospital and i went to are EPU and i asked for a scan or something to tell me beans still there and even the woman working there looked at me as if i was over reacting =[ They finally gave me a scan and confirmed i was having a miscarriage.

Im so gutted my oh had just come round to the idea and started to get excited he had gone out just the day before and come home with the cutest little pair of booties and now i just feel like ive let him down somehow.

First of all you haven't let anyone down. So don't think that for even a second.

You did exactly what the doctor and the hospital told you to do. You even fought for your little one by insisting on a scan . What more could you have done? You did everything right and have nothing to blame yourself for.

It feels inadequate but I'm sending you hugs right now.

Karon

Hey hun I had exactly the same in October with my Blighted Ovum.

Unfortunately these people see it everyday and I think they forget that to us ladies we have just lost our babies. They see it as a loss of some cells.

Me and My OH complained to the hospital we got an apology TBH didn't make me feel any better.

Sorry to hear what you and your OH went through and are going through. I was recently in casualty and heard the doctor speak to a women in the next cubicle to me and he told her she was miscarrying the way he said it though made it sound like she was having a nosebleed or something, so I dont think it's just your dr hun. It's a sad fact that so many pregnancies end in mc and the Drs and nurses have to become blaze about it because if not it would affect them mentally, however there is no need to be so unsympathatic to you. Take care of each other.

My aunt had a miscarriage quite late on in pregnancy and had to physically give birth and then stay in hospital for a bit. They put her on the maternity ward, literally surrounded with mothers and their new babies. Then the nurse even told her off for having her curtains shut saying 'you can't just hide away forever you know'

It's so harsh, it made me so angry.

I'm so sorry for your loss hun xxx

I am sorry for your loss, I have had similar experiences with very unsympathetic nurses during my miscarriages. Please don't blame yourself - unfortunately there was nothing that could be done and you did the right thing by insisting on a scan.
