Shoulder Pain

Ok, I know the advice is not to google but I did! Now I wish I hadn't.
It started this pm, pain in my left shoulder...It is painful when I move it, touch it...

Ive read this could be a sign of eptopic pregnancy. However I haven't had any other symptoms, no bleeding or pain, and still have morning sickness (well all day sickness)
Do you think I should worry, or you think its just oneof those niggles?

Thanks in advance!

I am not a doctor and have no medical knowledge but I am fairly sure that by 9 weeks, if your pregnancy was ectopic you would know about it. I heard that if the baby was growing in the tube, the tube would burst by 8 weeks at the latest so I think that it would be very unusual to have the first sign as a shoulder pain at your stage of pregnancy.

I had a pain in my shoulder yesterday which lasted an hour or so and then went away and I had my 12 week scan in the morning which showed my baby is very much in the right place.

I hope that your pain goes away soon. Good luck. x

My ectopic was diagnosed with shoulder pain but I was only 5 weeks. Apparently the pain is very specific from the tip of your elbow to the tip of your shoulder. The pain is excess blood in your system. I also had smudgy type bleeding from week 4

I would agree with Cat on how far you are on and if it would have been ectopic you would have known

If you are unsure I would ring MW or go to A&E - hope it settles down xxx

Thanks ladies for your replies. Sorry to hear fluffyblue about your eptopic ..

I did read that it ws common between 5-8 weeks, but just thought it was weird that it was specifically my left shoulder ..

Hopefully its just muscle pain or something

Thanks again for putting my mind at ease.. Cat, hopefully it will go in a couple of hours too, i have my scan on the 15th, I cant wait!!

Annabel x

It could be the way you're sleeping. My rib cage hurts and I imagine it's because of how I sleep. I'm 5 weeks. It's unlikely to be ectopic at this point.

If its shoulder tip pain get to a&e immediately, my ectopic ruptured at 8+2 and I nearly died. I had no other symptoms apart from a periodic stitch type feeling, and was not stereotypically ill or in pain.

I hope its not ectopic but you are better safe than sorry. XXX

Oh gosh, Im not sure how much of a shoulder tip pain it is! It doesn't hurt when its resting, its when I move it, try to raise it up.. Its not the exact tip, its about 1 fingers depth down from that..

Ive told my hubby but he seems to think im worrying too much...

Its just weird how it cameon this pm and is still here?? Why or why did it have to be my left shoulder!

I wonder what you mean "its unlikely to be ectopic at this point"?????

The whole point is that the baby doesnt make it into the unterus, so it either is or it isnt.

It really upsets me when people post inaccurate info about things that are life threatening!

If you have any doubt with this get it checked! Hopefully its coincidence, however I nearly died due to misdiagnosis and this is not something that you sit and wait for to get better.

I am thinking of you. XX

I was getting a really sharp pain in my shoulder's the other night, to the point I was nearly in tiers, but it was like the pain I used to get before I had a breast reduction, before that I only had it in my left shoulder (doctors say it was because my left breast was 2cup sizes bigger then my right, and that's why I only had the pain in my left) So now im just thinking mine is just because my breasts are getting big again and putting weight on them.
If you are worried tho contact your midwife.
