First of all..........STEP AWAY FROM GOOGLE......naughty!......lol

Im 9 weeks just like you and had really bad shoulder pain on Saturday and sunday.it was really really sore and i feared the worst....My midwife came out to see me Yesterday and i told her my fears.she said that its not only tummy muscles that get pulled during pregnancy and even the size of our ever growing boobs can cause stresses and strains on our bodies(mainly back neck and SHOULDERS!)

She also said that when were pregnant even tho were asleep of a night times we tend to lie in a different sleeping position to the usually way weve slept for the last x amount of years subconsciously because of us not wanting to lie on out tummy and sometimes that's how we get our achy bones without even knowing were been sleeping in a different position!..crazy!

Try to relax hun and take it easy and once again......back away from the google search!xx

All is probably fine, but maybe you should mention it to a GP or Midwife just to be on the safe side. Sometimes ectopics do have no symptoms until the end and shoulder tip pain is supposed to be once it is getting life threatening! I also know some people have tubes that stretch much more than others so don't burst until later! So, i'd say it's probably worth a mention.

i had this with both my pregnancies. It's probably something you might have even if you weren't pregs, I think by 9 weeks you would know if it was ectopic or not. You could go to the docs and get checked out if you're worried but i think it's just a normal pain. You tend to forget all the little niggles and pains you get when you're not pregnant and think that they are all pregnancy related and then start thinking it's all something to worry about.

Googling is bad but it's also really good when people say, i had this it was just...blah blah.. xx

What I mean Martine31 is that these things are typically discovered between 6-8 weeks or so I've read. If she's that concerned I'm sure she will seek medical attention. She's not an idiot. Forgive me for not being as educated as you are on the matter.

Thanks ladies for all your replies. Martine, did the pain in your shoulder stay continuosly??

My pain in my shoulder lasted all night and it would wake me up if I had moved it to far.. This morning though the pain has gone and hasn't come back..

Im hoping it was a muscle pain, or like jellybean said muscles getting put under strain.

I still dont have any abdo pain or any bleeding and now the shoulder pain has gone Im hoping that will be it. But if it does come back then I will definitely call the midwife.

Thanks again ladies for all your advice, and I promise to stay away from google!!

Annabel x

Annabel, it can't hurt to call your midwife and ask. They'll be able to give you definitive advice which will either get you checked out or stop you worrying.
It's not worth the risk waiting until your scan.
Please call and then let us know how you're doing!

I didnt have any shoulder pain, I had a mild stitch and then bam I ruptured. I didnt have any symptoms other than the stitch feeling.

My point is any symptoms of ectopic should be checked with urgency. Hopefully its not that, but if it is its life threatening!

I was told it was shoulder tip pain and like nothing you could experince. However i agree that any signs of ectopic should not be ignored or brushed aside till later. You maynot be 9 weeks as its fairly common to be a week or so out. Not meaning to scare you but for the sake of a phone call i would always ring. I did have shoulder pain in the 1st trimester, but i also phoned and asked .
