Just got a BFP - Need advice on seeing doctor, please HELP.

Hi,
I tested faint positive a couple of days before my period and today 1 day after my missed period I got a digital BFP. I called an ob/gyn rightaway but they have scheduled the 1st appointment in 10 weeks only!! Is that normal? Should I call my PCP doctor and have them run any blood test etc anyways? Since Its my 1st pregnancy I'm worried.

I think that's normal - I was a little bit surprised at the lack of involvement too. They said to me to make an appointment around 8 weeks with the midwife.

they like to take their time and make you wait. my first pregnancy, i wasn't going to be seen till 12 weeks.
turned out there were problems so i did get seen.

but usualy i dont think they do see you till at least 8 usualy longer

Thanks. I have scheduled for an appt with my PCP anyways. Just to confirm and for my own satisfaction. I'm taking prenatal vitamins (with Folic Acid) already. Anything else I should be doing?
