I bled for only a few hours, but it was very heavy and bright red the first time. The second time I bled for just an hour or so, but it was dark red and seemed to have a bit of bloody discharge. The dr. said it was just a sensitive cervix and not worry about it unless it continued and was accompanied by cramps. I know everyone is different, and you should for sure talk to your m/w about it and get a scan. I did the same as you and tested for days after, and my scan at 7 weeks showed a little bean. I hope all is well and you wind up just being like me and having cervical sensitivity.

Britt,

It could be something called a cervical erosion, which is harmless. When you are pregnant the vaginal canal skin ends up a bit thinner and more prone to light tearing etc. This can be brought on by things like sex or even just spontanousely.

When I was 6 weeks pregnant, I got a very light touch of brownish discharge (only when I wiped) and completely freaked out about it. I went to the midwife who examined me and told me that I had a small cervical erosion. She said that my cervix was tightly closed as it should be. I also had an early ultrasound and the baby was fine and I saw the heartbeat. I was so relieved. The brownish discharge, in all, lasted for about six days - but it was always very slight, mixed in with normal discharge and only noticeable when I wiped.

Try not to worry Britt, but if you are concerned, you could go and see if you can have an early ultrasound. It certainly put my fears at rest. I think I would have gone mad if I had not had some reassurance from the midwife, especially, as I had a miscarriage in November.

Good luck, I am sure things will work out fine.

xxx

Me and the OH BD quite regularly and i dont bleed at all. Women are different though. You've probably just got some vaginal sensitivity. Speak to your MW about your concerns and try and get an early scan. And refrain from BDing..........if you can!!!

I started bleeding abit after sex at 7 weeks and it was light brown and not loads. it only last 2 days and I went to the midwife and she said that brown is a good sign and it not being heavy. Only time will tell though. Try not to worry about it, it's fairly common and I've only had sex twice after that. I waited 6 weeks 'til trying again and no bleeding. Try give it a rest, don't give into temptation!

I started bleeding at almost 12 weeks and I bled for almost 3 after that. Pretty heavy for the first 5 days and then light for a few days and then darker stuff.

It turned out to be nothing. LO is still where he/she belongs and it is all good.
Fingers crossed for you. Getting it checked out can always help to ease your mind though.
