First Scan Experience

Hi ladies

I'm booked for my first internal scan Wednesday at 7+1...I feel really anxious and a bit scared...I have no idea what to expect...Is it true I'll already be able to hear a heartbeat?
I'd really like to read about your 1st experiences

i had one at 7+3 and they had to do internal. I saw the tiny baby and they could hear the heartbeat, i couldn't but the U/S technician could. The heart beat was 156 beats a minute. It was reassuring for me.

If not hear the heartbeat you should get to see it. You will see a little few pixels flash between black and white. Bubs will be pretty small but you should see the sac and baby by now. However, if you don't please don't panic - it's easy to get dates a little wrong. Oh, and don't worry about the internals hurting, they really don't at all just remember deep breaths and to relax down there. Good luck!

Can my weeks be wrong?...

Hi ladies,

I'm in need of words of wisdom. I went for my first internal scan thinking I was at 7+1 based on my LMP...But when the OBGYN got in there she says "Where are you little guy?" and I thought
So she told me that at 7 weeks we should be able to see the baby but only the sac was visible and so she gave me two possibilities:either I'm further behind than initially thought or things aren't going as they should...
Bearing in mind that my last cycles were all over the place, I'm thinking positive and hoping that I just Od later than "normal"...
How common is it to get such a difference between weeks based on LMP and based on what is seen on scans?

Thanks for all the support I've found on here

Hey i hope everything turns out well for you.. Based on LMP i was given a due date of 26th July but when i went for my scan they changed it to 22nd August which is almost 4 weeks of a difference.. So heres hoping you are like me and due later than you originally thought

xxx

i would continue thinking positive hun, especially if you are unsure of your dates. i went to my first scan at 7+2 and they could hardly see anything, the lady said there are lots of variables which make it hard to see the baby properly at this stage. i am sure of my O dates give or take a day or two and they still put me back 5 days.
