Men

How are your partners doing with the news of impending fatherhood? My situation is a little odd as the father is my best friend. We went out about 3 years ago then again last year (but basically have been speelping together for 4 years and spend all day every day with each other)

Hmmmm sounds more complicated than I think it is but basically as well as dealing with the idea of a new baby we are having to deal with a 'new' relationship of sorts. Arrrgghhhhhhhhh!!!

Is all fine apart from eternal foot in mouth disease that I think most men seem to have. After asking me a couple of weeks ago if morning sickness could be in mymind he was arguing with me last night about the validity of something so small making me so tired!!!

Im sure it will be fine once it all settles down and I think I need to stop being such a romantic and expeciting him to be perfect....damn hormones.

Jeez sorry about the length didnt think I needed to rant that much!

Hi there,
I'm with you on this, expecting him to be perfect and then always feeling let down!
Nah, he's OK, but he too says stupid things that set me off like a mad banshee!
As I posted in another thread similar, I reckon they don't even GET IT until you've got a bump and then they kind of see it as real and something tangible!

I am sure you'll settle into the 'new' relationship! Good luck!XX

My OH is still saying things he knows he shouldn't, by accident. Not as often, I'll give him that. Sometimes he just doesn't think though

Hormones are awful arent they!! Just before I found out I was pregnant I kicked OH out! I was finding every excuse to argue with him and I think I actually enjoyed the arguments so I ended up kicking him out and then 2 days later I found out I was pregnant!
Luckily he was very understanding and has been overjoyed ever since. But like you say, like most men he has been coming out with the most insensitive comments that sometimes make me want to strangle him!!! He had a case of man flu when i was about 10 weeks pregnant and expected me to run around after him when i felt like shit myself! I was very tired and had awful morning sickness, when I told him how bad I felt, he just told me that loads of women have babies and pregnancy is not an illness, so i should be looking after him! Insensitive git!

Sounds like your OH is excited though! Hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months!

Ahh seems like im getting off lightly with my OH

So far he has been really really good, im waiting for something stupid to come out though, normally he cant help himself.

I even showed him a video of a birth last night and he was completely unphased and managed to eat a whole bag of twiglets whilst watching

Men!!!

My DH also found it hard to believe how tired early pregnancy made women. I had to actually show him the page on the pregnancy book and made him read it!
