Spotting & Cramping, Possible to Remain Pregnant?

Hi, I booked an appointment with the doc tday having still not got a period and it being 5 weeks since I came off the pill for the weekly break. I got a faint positive on a test about 2 weeks ago but the other 3 tests I took were negative. No sooner had a booked the appointment I went to the toilet wiped and there was blood on the tissue, since then I've carried on spotting and getting mild cramps. The doctor said to me that I should wait till tommorow to see if this develops into a period, if it doesn't I must go back, and she said I should take another test a that point. Basically I wondered whether if it is possible to have light cramps and bleeding but still remain pregnant? I don't believe that theres any such thing as false positives when the test is performed correctly. I know that bleeding during the first trimester is fairly common, but if its accompanied by light cramps does it always have to signal misscarrige? I know I'm prob clutching at straws here, but I'm upset as the thought. I guess I will just have to wait and see how things develop, but I would be v interested to hear if anyone has or knows of people that have had bleeding and light cramping and still gone on to have a baby. Don't know whether to give up hope yet or not

Cramping is a part of pregnancy & period

I bled in the first trimester with Caitlin it can be perfectly normal but not always the case sadly as I also experienced!

Good luck

I had bleeding and cramps at 11 weeks and it turned out to be fine. I have to admit that I was really upset and freaked out. Fingers crossed for good news from the doctors though, Good Luck.
