I am an RN specialized in Geriatrics. I am a field nurse for home health and love my job! I plan to work up til the day I go into labor. Just hope it doesn't happen at a patient's house! ROFL!!! I plan to only be off about 3-4 weeks at most after having the little one.

I work in police support services. I work in records right now, but usually I transcribe police reports. I plan to work as little as possible. LMAO! I worked as a lifeguard/swim instructor with my last two babies. I worked until 19 weeks with my son, and 34 weeks with my daughter. I will take my full year maternity and parental leave.

I think you ladies in Canada and UK are so lucky with your maternity leave packages. We don't have anything in the US that even comes close. That's the main reason for me going back to work so quickly...money. LOL

Yeah, I can't imagine life without it, but not everyone qualifies. My sister never had any paid leave for her three children.

I teach English composition at a local university and I love it! I'm teaching three classes this semester (I teach more in the fall), so DD is only in daycare about 17-20 hours a week and the rest of the time she is at home with me. It kind of makes it hard to get anything done (grading papers, for example), but if I'm really in a crunch I'll go down to a local coffee shop while DH is home with DD. I can't image doing anything else!

I've been a registered nurse for over 6 years. I just started a new job though this week in my unit. I am now one of the 2 nurse educators! Excited about my new job, but tired!
