I'm at Wythenshawe hospital. Had my first at Bolton hospital even though I lived in Manchester. I was going to choose St Mary's this time round but all the community midwives around where I live are based from Wythenshawe so I wanted to keep consistancy. St Mary's is top notch though, not sure what Steeping Hill's maternity unit is like.
I was born at St. Mary's!

How are you finding Wythenshawe? My local hospital is Tameside, but I don't fancy it. I've heard good things about Stepping Hill so far.

My ex's familiy are all from Tameside and I have to say that hospital is awful!

To be honest even Wythenshawe wouldn't have been my fist choice but I made a judgement call based on midwife care etc.

I was under investigations at St Mary's and have to say that everything is brand new and shiny but the downside is that it's right in the centre. Stepping Hill would be a good bet though xx

Hi,

I am in the same situation as you. MW insisted on me going for a scan at what she thought was 12 weeks (going from my LMP) although I knew that it wouldn't be and the scan confirmed that.

I am not sure about your PCT, but my local PCT does not offer the NT scan anyway, they only do some bloods at 16 weeks. So even if I had been able to get a scan at 12 weeks, it still wouldn't have been a NT scan.

Try not to worry about it.

My story is similar to yours. I'm about 12 weeks by dates but when I had my scan I only measured 9+1. The doctor who did the scan said i would need to come back for a rescan at around 15 weeks cause he couldn't check what he needed to. I'm from N.Ireland, I suppose they have different protocols in different centres. They do check everything at 20 weeks so you'll be fine but I know it's hard not to worry.

i think they are supposed to check for the nuchal space so i would talk to your midwife and get her advice as she may be able to get another one booked as the nuchal space along with the blood tests gives you your percentage for the risk of downs

^^ it depends on the area, some PCT's offer it some don't... if they were going to do a nuchal scan they would have rebooked it

my local hospital doesn't offer NT scans, just the blood test. both times I went for scans they were at 10 weeks and 20 weeks.
