Holiday Dilemma - Please Help!

I need you advice, lovely ladies!!!

I'm really stuck as to what to do with our holiday...

We have already booked to go abroad in July with 2 of our friends, and I'm starting to think it's going to be a bad idea. I'll be 6 months pregnant, and I think I'm going to be too hot and not enjoy myself etc.

I don't want to cancel though, as it's paid for and I don't want to let my friends down. However, I don't think I'll be able to handle 2 weeks of being too hot, unconfortable, and sitting in the shade.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks ladies!

Hi hun, where abouts are you going?
Have you checked with you're airline if it's ok to fly? I can't remember what the guidelines are....
It's up to you, if you don't think you could handle it then it would be best to cancel rather than be uncomfortale and miserable, but if the airline say it's ok and you're pregnancy is low risk (doctor ok's it) and the holiday isn't far far away then have a nice hol

I'm going to Lanzrote next year - admittedly it's in February and March so won't be majorly hot - and I hope to go pregnant! I shall be starting to try at the end of August this year, so if I'm lucky straight away I'll be 6 months pregnant when we fly. It's only for a week and I read that the best time to fly was during the second trimester. Most airlines are fine and have no problems - it's only later on in pregnancy that they get concerned and require doctor's letters etc.

It's your choice. I suppose it depends how your pregnancy progresses and what kind of symptoms you have. It might do you the world of good.

Thanks, ladies.

We're booked to go to Turkey - so it's only 3 hours away. I've not checked with the airline yet, but I will do. I've also just checked our tickets, and we cannot have a refun if we cancel

I was really looking forward to it, but I'm just a bit worried about being uncomfortable and a party pooper!

i used to work the seasons in an irish bar in ayia napa me and my best friend had booked up to go back not knowing she was pregnant. She was 6 months by the time we went and had a great time, she sat in the shade when she needed to and we made sure we had air conditioning so she could go to the room and cool down. We made allowances and looked after her but didn't for a second think she was a party pooper wouldn't have been the same without her. If you really don't want to go don't there's no point, but i don't think bubs will stop you having a great time x

if you've booked a package deal with a hol shop e.g. CO-OP / Thomas Cook etc you can usually transfer your booking for a diff hol. It's usually about £30 each to transfer, I've done it twice before.

You could change it to go earlier, so that your less far along or transfer it for a year after? I'm sure your friends would understand.

Not sure how this works if you've booked flights / accomodation seperately though.

xxxxxx

I'd go and enjoy yourself. It'll be the last holiday without a baby so make the most of it You don't need to drink to have fun hun And you get loads of yummy mocktails you can have instead.. Just no salad!

ive just had the same problem we would have been going away in june but i would have been over 30 weeks and they said you have to have a doctors note when you are over 28 weeks to say everything is ok, i had my first son early so i cant risk it so we have changed it to may it only £30 or£35 to change it. if i was you i wuld pop in to your travel agents and have a word. we are going to turkey but it should be cool when we go but when you go it is going to be bloody hot

I was in the same dilemma! I've booked to go to Zante with 5 friends in May/June. I booked the holiday after i found out i was pregnant, but afterwards i started to have some doubts about going. I don't want them to think i'm a party pooper or anything...only one of them knows i'm pregnant, i'm planning to tell the others soon! I just don't wanna ruin their holiday by being "boring", or make them feel like if i have to go back to the apartment early, that they have to come too..i want them to have a good time! But having said that, this will be my last holiday before baby is born, and i love my friends and they love me too so i'm sure they will be fine with it!
I think you should go, and have a good time. I bet you will really enjoy yourself once you are there x
