I'm Currently Feeling: | Trip to the Doctors For anyone who doesn't know the on going saga of my anetenatal clinic referal: My last Doctors Surgury, lost, forgot to send and delayed my referal to the antenal clinic for my first scan. And needless to say it was getting a little distressing.
So I decided as a back up plan to book an appointment at my New Doctors yesterday - and I sort of feel like I'm getting somewhere.
He actually wants to take blood! - OK so I'm a complete needle phob, but seeing as how my last Doctor was happy to take my say-so that some lines appeared on a little white stick and send me away to wait for my 12 week scan (grr), I feel like this Doctor is actually taking an intersest.
I have the blood taken on Monday, and the results on Friday. It's being testing firstly to confirm that I am pregnant (which I'm secretly glad about, because until someone in a white coat tells me so, I keep worrying I've imagined it) and then for a blood count (think this is to see if I'm anemic?) and Ferritin (is this iron?).
Results being good, he will re-refer me to the hospital, although i'm hoping that by then they will have recieved my previous Doctors (four weeks late). |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Not sure - surgeries have their own procedures. Mine didnt take blood - he took my word for it. In fact 14 yrs ago with my first they took my word for it too - he said no point doing another test as they use the same ones the chemists stock!!
This time they just booked me with the community midwife and she sorted the scan booking out.

I'm Currently Feeling: | Some doctors do pregnancy tests now if you want them.. ours has brought that in.
I'm also a needle phob but it didn't hurt tbh.. just don't look at it, I made the mistake of looking at the blood rather than than the needle |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I FINALLY got my scan date! I've posted about my scan date in an other thread (it arrived this morning).
So I'm feeling a little better, but I'm so scared in case the blood tests or scan say theres nothing there :/
My Mum made me feel a bit better, she pointed out all my sympotoms, and no periods for two months. I don't know why we doubt outselfs so much, but I guess it's normal, and a way of preparing yourself for every eventuality. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Glad you got a doctor who will listen to your concerns. I'm sure everything is fine but good luck with the blood tests and the scan! |
