Is Ginger safe????

I just wondered how safe Ginger capsules were to take in early pregnancy and if anyone knew if they worked?? I bought some at the weekend from holland and barratts (a health food shop in the UK) and the woman in the shop said they were safe to use but on the label on the packet of capsules it says if breast feeding or pregnant consult doctor before use???

I'm feeling so nauseous and I'm back to work tomorrow after a long weekend off and I'm dreading it cos I feel awful and sick all the time

I dont know, i wouldnt want to risk it. Its fine to eat like ginger biscuits and stuff but not sure about capsules. You could ring the pharmacy tomorrow or ring the doctors and ask the receptionist if you could just ask a doctor on the phone cos there's no point in going in.

I would check anything out first. I wouldnt take anything when i was pregs first time, i was too scared. I didn't take paracetamol or things for heartburn. I think that was a bit ott tho. Check with your doc first tho. xx

Don't take ginger it has a blood thinning effect. You can have things with ginger in it or flavored but I wouldn't take those pills. That is my opinion.
