Nuchal translucency screening

Anyone else having this done? I'm considered low risk but my OBGYN likes to screen everyone. I'm scheduled for April 25 and a bit nervous about it (although seeing the fetus on a sonogram is always cool).

I keep telling myself that the odds are stacked way in my favor, but there's always that slight chance...I'll be so happy when this test is over and done with!

Haha, that sounds like a good reason dizzynic!

Oddly enough I've had three scans now--one on the first visit at 6 weeks, one to confirm the embryo's age at 8 weeks (either my math was off or I ovulated a week late), and another one at 10 weeks. It's pretty exciting to see it getting bigger so fast. And at the 10-week one (on Monday), the little bean was waving its arms and legs around. So cute!

I did it, I was 25 when I found out I was pregnant, but I still chose to do it.
Gives you a piece of mind for sure.

Great pic Belly!! I'm dead nervous for mine. Not for the Downs part - just seeing that everything is still ok.

Try not to be nervous guys! I know I will be too im sure... but the positive is, if there IS something, the doctors can monitor and prepare, which is the best thing for your baby.

I work in a hospital and the difference bettween drs knowing about a problem and being prepared, versus emerg staff having to be called, is a huge thing. Even minutes can be a precious commodity and mean a world of difference.
