Yolk Sac

Hi all,

Just wondering, I had a scan today, 9 weeks 2 days and all was good. Heartbeat seen and right size for dates. The report says no yolk sac visible, I can't see on pics either, is this an issue? I know it gets smaller as you go along but when would it become not visible on an U/S?

Thanks. xx

i'm not sure tbh, my sonographer told me that the yolk sac was seen on my 6 week scan but i'm not sure if it was there last week.....tbh as long as bubs is fine it must start to get smaller now....apparently the yolk sca releases all the hormones, have u found ur sickness / symptoms wearing off recently? would make sense if so
xxxxx

At my 8 week scan the sonographer pointed it out and said it was almost gone, which is normal at that stage.

the placenta doesnt actually fully take over until your entering 2nd tri.... im not too sure about yolk sac just because its not visible doesnt mean its not hiding somewhere? Main thing is your bub is there and fine if its the right size for your dates etc this means your baby is growing. I doubt there anything to worry about especially if the sonographer wasnt concerned xxx
