*TMI* constipation is doing my head in!

Anyone else suffering with bad constipation?

How are people solving it if you are?

Iv been having rumbles in my belly as if im going to need to run to the toilet quick and tried staying in the house today but had no movements
Been drinking plenty of fruit juice and having fruit too but its not working :/

Fybogel and lactulose are both great. If you get them on perscription they are free but can be bought over the counter. Keep drinking loads of fluids but unfortunatly constipation and pregnancy go hand in hand

had fybergel, it doesnt seem to be helping, going to have some more in the morning. lactulose was my next option, tbh we already have some in the house.

Hey Danielle,

I am now starting to get over the constipation myself, with the help of a lot of things

2 litres of water a day
1 glass of orange juice a day
Activia Prune yoghurt at dinner
Bran flakes with a banana for breakfast
2 x clementines/satsumas (anything oranges) a day
3 x teaspoons of lactulose at about 630pm

I know its rather anal (pardon the pun), but I get severe cramps in my bowel if I haven't been to the toilet which frighten me.

Doc said lactulose is the best option to take when pregnant, but taken with caution in 1st 3 months.....so I haven't up'd my dose since taking it (and would prefer not to take it if I can) He also said any roughage like oranges is good....as is prunes

Hope this helps hun

xxx

perfect solution

I found the perfect solution (rather accidentally) - I drank a glass of milk THEN remembered I'm lactose intolerant. Boy did that ever fix THAT problem quickly
