AARRGGHH doctors !!!!

I moved house 2 weeks ago and have just phoned the local doctors to book an appointment and they said they carnt see me for over a month for a basic registration appointment !
I explained that i was pregnant and that i had lost a baby a couple of months ago and was there any chance i could get an earlier appointment and she said that they would see me as a temporary patient on the 30th of april and i would just have to wait !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that will make me 9 weeks and i still wont have had a midwife appointment or been referred to the hospital for my scan !!!
maybe im being a little sensitive but i really hoped to have seen some one even if it was just to help put my mind at rest !!
Sorry to rant ladies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't refered for my scan untill 10 weeks. They are insensitive sometimes but if they had to fit in everyone that rang up pregnant on the day they'd have no time to see anyone else. You could always book a quick private scan to put your mind at rest?

Are there no other doctors nearby you could try and register at?

I went to my Doctors when I was 5 weeks, and they said that as I had moved I had to change GPs, luckily for me they said they'd do the referal letter there and then (sadly they forgot to send it but that's an other story), i got a letter last week to say I'd been excepted at my new doctors, so I gave them a ring and got in to see the midwife this wednesday.

Maybe try getting an appointment with your surgery midwife rather than doctors - an appointment might be available sooner and if you explain this all to her she might be able to get it sorted out faster. Personally I suspect that she'd be so apauled she'd get a doctor to see you there and then.

Go to a walk in centre huni - tell them that you're not registered with a GP and that you're pregnant and worried cause you've had a MC and so forth - they'll help you x

hi, it was similar to me! I went to doctors at 5 weeks to discuss the pregnancy. As i had moved house i had to change doctors and so did so straight away. The earliest appointment i could get to see midwife was at 10 weeks, such a long time!! Anyway, im going tmw. ... finally. I ws really unwell 2 weeks ago and had emergency appointment at new doctors who then sent me straight to hospital for an emergency scan. All was fine in the end. I understand your concern with having a previous m/c but they don't seem to give a damn until there is something wrong.... it's natural to need some reassurance. Good luck x
