Trouble Sleeping - argh!!

I don't know what's the matter with me at the mo?? I've never had problems sleeping, even in the first 10 weeks of pregnancy. I was one of those people who was gone for the count as soon as my head hit the pillow...I've always loved my bed!!

Just recently though I just can't seem to sleep properly at all and was wondering if it was a pregnancy symptom or just me??

The weirdest thing is I am absolutely shattered and feel like I could sleep forever but as soon as I go to bed, day or night I just seem to lie there tossing, turning and thinking... and if I wake up in the night for a pee, the same thing will happen and it takes ages for me to drop off again It's like I've got a million things running through my head and I can't switch my brain off

Sorry for the moan, just feels good to get it off my chest!!

xx

I'm experiencing exactly the same thing!! I'm peeing, on average, about 6 times a night. It's sooooo frustrating!!! And then i cant get back to sleep. my shoulders and neck ache and i'm generally uncomfortable. The OH keeps saying that he'll sleep downstairs for a few nights so that i can spread out, but he never does!! Well, i'm not gonna begrudge him of his bed or anything but it would be nice not to have a hot, sweaty body next to me!!

The thing is, it's gonna be even worse when bump gets bigger!!

I had exactly the same from around 8 weeks til now. I've only just been starting to get to sleep again. I was so tired and really needed and wanted to sleep but I just couldn't! I would wake up at 12 and not be able to sleep til 6-7am again. It was awful

I know - that's what makes me nervous!!

I feel like I should be topping up on sleep now so I'm more prepared. Maybe it's just mother nature's way of getting us used to being tired all the time!!

Your body is getting you ready for this long pg and the baby. It is normal. Try taking benadryl, it will help put you to sleep.

Im suffering too, you think our bodies would be taking advantage of all the sleep we offer it! Also the random things you think of, i have done strange, bit silly and just plain mad- then wake up and have to think for a few minutes what was real and wasnt.

I'm also having really messed up sleep patterns at the mo, despite feeling exhausted. From about 5-9 weeks I was going to bed really early and having very deep, uninterrupted sleeps. (Lovely ) However for the past week or so I've suddenly got terrrible insomnia, and am barely getting a few hours each night, no matter how shattered I feel. It's so frustrating, but I suppose it's good practice for when my little bean makes it's grand arrival! lol
