Have any of you had a heartbeat in your early scans. Ive got one tomorrow and im only 5 weeks and 3 days. They gave me a scan last week but could only see a dot and they were'nt sure what the dot was.

I had a scan at just under 5 weeks and they couldnt see a HB - just the sac and the tiniest yolk. At 7 wks + 2 days they saw a HB. I dont think its unusual not to see a HB so early so if they dont then dont worry.

Yes, I also had a scan at 5 weeks and all they saw was the sac. Not much to see right now.

How come you guys had your scans so early?

I had an early scan (due to some bleeding) at 5 weeks 5 days and they could see a heartbeat!

I had an early scan, showing 6 weeks, unsure of exact dates as should of been 9 weeks by then, and it showed a hb

i had a scan at what they thought was 6 weeks but they made me 5weeks 3 days and we could see a black blob as my oh put it but i did see a hb...remember though we are all different and as some people have said they have not been able to pick theirs up until 7 weeks..good luck

I had mine after severe pain early on to rule out ectopic. It's reassuring but unfortunately in the UK it often means no 12 wk scan.

Really i didn't know this, although luckily midwife is booking me in for dating scan and also i opted for the nt check, believe they now scan you between 11 and 13 weeks for this, normally tied in with dating scan

Its the old post code lottery I'm afraid - every NHS trust do it their own way. Here you get a 12 week dating scan and 20 week anatomy scan and thats it! Triple blood tests at 16 and no NT scan. I'm paying privatly for an NT scan.
