I'm Currently Feeling: | Temptation! I just need some help from you great guys! As you know, I work in a hospital and can basically get a scan whenver I like.
My dilema is this - I have managed to wait 3 weeks since my last scan and would really love to wait til 12 weeks so that the difference is really marked. Everyday is a real battle not to walk into the department! I try and avoid the sonographer at all costs!
Should I have a sneaky scan, just so I know everything is ok, or hold off til the 12 weeks? The wait is killing me!
I know this must sound awful for you poor things that have to have them booked, but I half wish the temptation wasn't there! It makes my working day very difficult!!!
Please help!!!!! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | If it were me I'd do it, but then that's just because I reeeeaaaalllllly can't wait for my first scan. However I think I'd worry that my collegues might think I was taking advantage of my position, so be careful
Maybe it would be best to wait and sneak in a few more scans later on when there is more to see and you never know what concerns you might have down the line and want to check up on. |

| If it were up to me, I would walk around with a sonograph (is that what they are called?!) strapped to me all day watching the bean!
Is it okay for the baby to have scans so regularly? If it's safe, I'd go for it! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | There was some controversy awhile back about whether or not too many scans do harm the baby. I honestly don't know what was made of it.
At the same time, private scan clinics are all over now and if there was a health risk, I would imagine they wouldn't have private clinics.
It certainly would be hard to have the temptation right there in front of you. Not sure what I would do, really. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Twud be verrry tempting
But as said above, they're still investigating whether or not sending sonogram waves into the womb to often, harms the baby. It's thought that it could raise the temp of the baby, and affect the growth and development of tissue if done too often or for too long at a time.
You can go for private scans that last for 45 mins, but again, the 'boutique' scan clinics aren't as watched as the hospitals, and there aren't any firm guidelines yet into what qualifications they need. This is gonna change though, hopefully.
Ask the sonographers their opinion on having alot of scans, and see what they reckon.... ( you could even use going to ask that question as a roundabout way of getting another scan ) |
