Make sure your stomach is never empty. Eat some crackers or something before you even sit up out of bed. Do try the ginger (tea, cookies, candy, whatever), it works well for some. (BTW, I haven't had MS yet, just read a few pregnancy books).

I can't believe nobody's suggested B6 yet! I take 50 mg of B6 when i get up in the morning and 50 mg in the early evening (say between 4-5 pm) and that seems to help. I'm still a little queasy throughout the day, but it's not all out nausea. If the B6 doesn't quite cut it, I take ginger root capsules in between, since the ginger tea I have makes me gag. Sometimes I throw Rolaids in there and Pepcid, esp. if I have heartburn. Good luck; hopefully we'll all be over this soon!!!

i have had hyperemesis with all 3 of my pregnancies so its a bit different than normal ms. The main aim for me is to drink and nibble enough to keep me out of hospital. I;m on medication but am still permanently nauseous and am sick about 3-4 times a day.

I have however been given LOTS of advice from midwives, nurses, doctors and anyone else who fancies it. Lots of these have prob been mentioned before, so sorry:

sipping flat coke seems to settle some peoples stomaches
make sure there is always something on your stomach
Arrowroot biscuits or other plain biscuits
sucking on ice or icepops/lollies
plain crisps ie hula hoops
nibbling on mars bars actually helped me once
sucking on sweets
sea bands
meditation/deep breathing
if really bad, try to move around less
travelling in cars can make you worse
if smells make you sick, get one of the nose clips that swimmers wear
if it doesn't smell good/right to you don't eat it.
eat what you want, when you want/can

I hope some of these suggestions help, fingers crossed we all feel better soon

x

I had morning, day and night sickness so bad, I could not even get out of bed. It was TERRIBLE. I started to take Unisom and B6 everynight. And OH MY WOW. I feel like a brand new woman

I just have to eat constantly - it's the only thing that helps.

I've only been sick a few times, but I'm burping and gagging loads. It's disgusting really!

Cereal bars, water biscuits, boiled sweets, apple slices are all good for me. I'm trying to stay healthy but it's not that easy!!

Oh my god, I've been having a really tough couple of weeks. First it was the constant nausea, now its being sick and nauseous, a big weight loss.

I've tried most things people have mentioned but havnt really helped me much. So I suppose sometimes all you can do is just wait it out. But for me, I've found that foods like jacket potato, beans, and vegetable rice seem to be foods i can keep down. Oh and salt and vinegar maccoy crisps!

Is anyone else working and going through this? How have you managed?

Ginger candies and gum has helped me. Keeping crackers by the bed. Lemon heads(candy). B12 brought the appetite back and lessened the nausea. Sitting outside and taking deep breaths(given you don't live in a very smog filled area). The fresh air usually always makes me feel better and calms me down. And it might seem strange, but a bit of caffeine(from diet coke) always helped.

It's been ok recently as we've been quite busy and no-one has noticed if I've gone quiet for a while. But yesterday I had to literally run out of the room three times during a conversation, just to gag in the toilet. If it carries on like this I'm going to have to tell them early I think
