| Problems with bladder....any advice? Morning Ladies
Hope you are all well
I know that you tend to visit the toilet more often when pregnant but I keep wanting to go for a pee and hardly anything comes out - is this normal? Also feel a bit of pressure in my lower abdomen - again is this normal? could be stretching? feel ok now but this morning on the way to work felt pretty rough.
thanks xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | I know EXACTLY what you mean, it's such an annoyin feelin.
For me I fell really desperate for a wee and when it comes out it's like a dribble.
I had this before I was pregnant and it comes and goes.
I went to the GP at first as I thought it was sistitus, it wasnt!!!
There was no sign of infection whatsoever!
I spoke to my mom a few weeks ago as it was doin my head in (she's a consultant nurse)
She said she has the same problem often but it was to do with body mechanics and tubes rather then infection, in my case nothin i can really do about it.
Go to the doc just to rule out infection and make sure you are drinkin plenty of fluids (I find this helps)
Good luck

| Thanks Hollie for your message much appreciated. It is really annoying I couldn't settle last night as kept wanting to go!! I had mw booking in last Thursday and gave specimen I assume they test for things there? (can you tell I am novice!?!) Thankfully we have our scan tomorrow so hopefully will get to speak to a mw then and see what they say.
Thanks again for your message xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | No worries at all!
Yeah they will check your urine for protein, glucose, blood etc.
Your mw will be able to tell you the results and whether you have an infection.
They often test urine in pregnancy because of the increased risk of UTI (urinary tract infection) and later on to rule out Gestational diabetes.
If you have got an ifect you will be prescribed some suitable antiobiotics.
But you never know it could be something like what i've got and just be a mechanical thing!
When you need the loo make sure you go straight away (reduces risk of infec), keep drinkin water and cranberry juice is great.
I know how you feel its so uncomfortable and horrible and being pregnant just makes everything so much worse as the need to go to the loo is soooo much more frequent.
Does it burn when you wee??? Have you got a temp???

| hey hun again thanks for the advice
it doesn't really burn sometimes it feels warm (sorry tmi!!) but not uncomfortable. I guess from your advice it just sounds like something we will have to put up with in pregnancy! but will mention to the mw tomorrow and see what they say am drinking a big bottle of water at the moment so hopefully it will make me feel better!

| ok, it could just be the fact your pg and the babe is pushing on your bladder but also you may have a urine infection. Take a sample with you tomorrow to the mw she can check it for you xx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Just try drinking lots of cranberry juice and water. Having to pee fequently is normal and just having the urge is normal too especially for your first because the uterus is expanding and putting pressure on your bladder. It is likely burning if you dont have anything to pee out. |

| As the others said, sometimes when you feel like you wanna go but can't, it's a sign of a water infection. Especially is you have any pain in your back or fever. Might just be things pushing on your bladder though. We are so lucky to be suffering from all these lovely ailments, aren't we!? x x |
