I had mine at 5 weeks (after advice from consultant virologists that they would recommend it in any trimester) and had no side effects. In the UK it is recommended for all trimesters. In my department about 40 of us had the vaccination as we all have occupational risk and there is a lot of swine flu about in London at the moment (though interestingly not much other flu) and 2 members of staff felt unwell for a couple of days afterwards (admittedly I am the only pregnant staff member in my department).

There are lots of threads on here about swine flu - please do a search to get as many opinions as possible.

Jade Grenade- As you wont go into your beliefs about the swine flu and vaccine i'm guessing were on the same wavelength about it!

Despite everything I cant see how they can justify giving pregnant women the vaccine when its not safe for babies under 6 months old

I did a lot of research before getting the shot and talked to quite a few people in the healthcare system before making my decision. I got my shot when I was 5 weeks along and felt 100% fine except for a sore arm after receiving the shot. I heard too many horror stories of pregnant women getting the swine flu and ending up in palliative care with their babies...I didn't want to take that risk.

It's no worse than getting a regular flu shot which people have been getting for years.
