so when do you go to see the gp after a positive hpt

okay so what do i do now.

1 am 4 weeks pregnant, have done 4 hpt over several days to confirm and reconfirm that i am pregnant hurrray, so was wondering when you tell your gp. i have heard conflicting stories that i should see the gp as soon as possible, to some saying not to go to gp before 12 weeks

hope you ladies can help out and what the nhs system is.

thanks

Congratulations : )
U need to book an appointment straight away, that way ur first appointment with ur midwife will be arranged. However I know that different places do it differently. I had my first appointment with my midwife at 8 weeks and got my 12 week scan this wednesday. So dont wait untill 12 weeks to contact ur gp as u will having ur first scan at this point.
x

Firstly congrats! I went to my gp as soon as I found out so she could arrange the booking in app with a midwife. I wanted to get everything started to make sure I got the 12 week scan on time and I did!

I never had any tests at the doctos to confirm, they just took my word for it. I guess it varies from place to place

Congratulations!

I went 2 days afterwards as they then booked me in with the midwife for next week. No blood test though, I think they trust the home ones so much now - was only a 5 minute thing with the GP, asked about last period, if taking folic acid, about any previous pregnancies and that was about it.

I found out on Friday that I'm pregnant and have an appointment tomorrow. It all seems so unreal.
