I posted awhile ago (pregnant on BCP) saying that I had been on BCP had come off for my weekly break and no period. I was concerned as I had missed about 5/6 pills towards the end of the pack, but had taken a test and it was negative. Well basically I took everyones advice on here and didn't go back on the pills, waiting a few days to see whether AF showed and if not to retest. Well, AF did not show, I retested and it was negative. So I left it a week and a half till today, still no AF! Retested- negative, arghh!

Tommorow it will have been 3 weeks since I came off the pills. I've had all the same symptoms I described before, been having cramps aches in my tummy for almost 3 weeks. Am still getting the bloating aswell. The other thing that concerns me is in the last week my areolas have darkened slightly. I dont know what to do, wait another week and retest again, go to the doctors now, or wait till next week and if the tests still negative go to the doctors? I really thought I'd get a positive result by now!

Go to the doctors, they will do a blood test. xx

i agree with the others get a blood test but you should know that it takes a lot of woman a while to come right after the go off the pill and your cycles could just be messed up. they might take a few cycles to come right, that is if ure not going back on.

thanks everyone. Well I took 2 tests a first response and a boots own. As I said I thought them both negative, but wen I did the boots own I saw the mearest hint of a line which I thought was my imagination! Having looked again I can definately see a line going the other way but its so pale and so thin its harldy visible! I've decided to buy another and do it in a few days, because surely if that was a v faint positive it should get stronger after a few days.

sorry if anyone's given this advice already, but a lot of times it throws the girl's period off for a couple of months when the come off birth control. It made my period irregular at first a long time ago when i ran out and stopped taking it for a few months. Although, i don't know how to explain your symptoms...wish i could have been of better help

I got pregnant on alesse... so who knows.

Try a test in a few days and see I guess. Make sure you test in the morning too. I did my first one at night and the line was faint, and in the morning it showed up right away.

If the next test comes up neg though you should really go to the dr because the pills can mess with your system. Alesse always made my period almost a week late.

Even a faint positive is still a positive
You could have ovulated later than you thought, and therefore not be 'as pregnant', which is why it's taken longer to get a positive.

Yea I was a bit surprised that it came out on the boots one and not the first response, I would have thought it would be the other way round! I'm buying another tmorow and giving it another go then, should hopefully be clearer. It seems unlikely that its a watermark as it came up after a couple of mins and is blue in colour. Its thinner than what I thought it should be and pale which is why I thought I was seeing things! I'm not been able to concentrate on anything lately I'm so excited and distracted thinking about it! Yep Ann Marie if this is the case I prob ovulated later that I thought as it was so difficult to calculate wot with the pill and all! OOOhh bring on tmorow!!
