apparently i'm a disappointment!

Lol, i can kind of see the funny side but the news did not go down too well with my partners parents. due to the fact that we are not married and don't live together at the moment, i think his mum had a bit of a panic attack when my OH announced the news. We are both mid twenties and in good jobs so i dont see what the problem is other than the fact that we are engaged and not married. We have been looking for a house since before i got pregnant but have not found anything yet. It was not a planned pregnancy but i just wish she would have thought about what she said before saying it. My family are over the moon which im happy about so trying not to let his mums reaction get to me.

How conservative of them.

You guys are in love, you'll have your own home and provide well for your child.A piece of paper means nothing.
Don't worry, she'll start treating you better once she realises that you are carrying HER granchild.

yeah i know it's a bit old fashioned and stuff and i could understand if we didnt have jobs etc but we are in a good position to have a baby and will be great parents, she just needs a reality check i think. I was so offended and had a cry but to be honest, i think she will calm down and i hope she does. It's just horrible tho when you are so excited and someone takes the wind from your sails! Thanks for the support tho, i appreciate it! xx
