Do twins have to run in familes for you to have them or can it be up to nature to decide how many you're going to get?? LOL

As far as I am aware, twins do run in families but skip a generation.

Also, when you are a maturer mother to be, the chances of multiple births increases.

My cousins are twins and there is no history on either side.

It normally runs in families but doesn't have to. Sometimes it just seems to happen.

Anyone can get pg with twins, but they can also run in families, and don't have to skip a generation. Twins run rampant in my family. I am a twin, my mom is a twin, her twin sis has two sets of twins, my mom's brother has a set of twins as well. My mom is doing research in our family tree to see how many there are, and so far she has counted up to 50 pairs (this goes way back, and not all survived). I spoke to a gentecist about my chances of having them and he said it is passed through women and I would have an 80% chance of having them, but have lucked out so far (I don't want to have twins!). My daughters also have the same chance of having them. So, it depends on your family history or it could be just a fluke thing.

I know it's probably not an issue for anyone that me but I'd be scared of having twins because of how massive my belly would get! OH said I have all my priorities wrong though.

i got twins there 4 now and hell on legs its been the tiughest job i have ever done in my life but well worth it i didnt have twins either side of my family

My family, and my SO's family both have more than 1 set of twins... I was definately happy this baby is on his own.. lol..
