Constipation question...

...well, my shyness has gone. After CM and sick and wee and probes and all sorts, what's the point anymore?

Well, I know I have constipation because...well...I can't poop. but it is normal to feel pains too? Like tummy cramps and niggles and feeling full up?

Also, any good solutions for helping ease it up?

Thanks girls
-x-

Drazic...dont be shy!! no one else is.

So constipation, dont really have it myself...just go once every 2 days really now. BUT i feel full up after a meal, ate a pizza tonight and now have serious trapped wind, and my tummy is poking out and hard ;-)! im trying all fours technique with head to the floor bum up...its good!!

cramps and niggles are normal, pokes and prods from the inside are too!! I had them pretty bad at about 5-7 weeks!

dont worry!!

I find lying on the sofa on my back tends to help the aches and niggles.

If the constipation gets really bad see the MW she can give you stuff otherwise, fibre prunes...all that rank kind of stuff!!!!! xxx

Hun drink plenty of water, drink Pear juice with Cranberry juice. Stay away from other juices (except orange) as they have to much sugar in them and they cause constipation.
How I have beat it is with the Pear and cranberry juice, I walk every morning and I drink loads and loads of water. I also don't eat any sugar foods or drinks (which is hard as I am craving some LOL)

if it gets to bad go to the Dr, it can become serious and very uncomfortable.

Prune juice is supposed to be good apparently but I am not sure I could face that!
Hope it gets better soon! xx

Drazic I am suffering from quite bad constipation and have been since about 5 weeks. I went for a whole week with no bm (that was over Xmas). I'm normally a once a day girl. I mentioned this to my mw who prescribed me some Lactulose which is a gentle solution. It definitely helps to soften things up and I had the most relieving bm ever the other day! My stomach actually went down and I just felt better. Before that I was out the stage where it hurt so much it made me feel faint. I'm now managing every 3 days so it is helping. I do eat quite well including fibre and drinking water, but that didn't seem to make much difference for me. If it gets too bad, try some Lactulose (cheaper to buy over the counter in boots).

ps. My sis gave me some prune juice to try but I did not like it. The medicine tastes of golden syrup though!

Thanks girls. It has only been a day but it was giving me niggly pains and I feel 'blocked up'. I had this with Edan and it seems to have swopped places with the sickness for now! Thanks for the tips

Hi sweetie

Yep, I had this too last week for about 5 days and it was awful! I just ate loads of veggies and drank fruit juice and eventually could go. I have a feeling that it was that giving me the cramps that made me go to the epu, or at least making them worse, so yes it is normal to have cramps and a belly ache when constipated. I hope you feel better soon!

xx

Theres something called fybogel http://*******.com/y9bufqa that you could try only thing is it uses aspartame to sweeten. Boots do Fibre-sure http://www.boots.com/en/Fibre-Sure-100-Capsules_46656/ and they also do fig syrup otherwise you can go down the laxative route. Good luck x
