8 week scan! Woo Hoo!

Hi everyone,
Just back from my 8 week scan and it was amazing, saw my little one with a strong heartbeat. I thought I would cry but I was so in shock, had prepared myself for the worst but am now feeling great

The sonographer also thought I was nearer 8w3d so was happy to be moved along a few days!

It just proves that everyone has their time, this has come after nearly three years of trying for us and then two miscarriages in 2009. I am just so thrilled!

Does anyone know what the chance of miscarriage is now?

Well done hun! I have my first scan on Monday, I think I am around the 8 week mark.

Hopefully it goes as well as yours did! Do you have a picture? xx

Hey hun,
I do have a picture but its not very clear. I may try and upload it later. Good luck with your scan, am sure it will be fine! They managed to give me an external scan which was good as I thought they may end up doing internal. The picture on the screen was really clear and we could make out the head and the legs, so sweet. When I saw the flickering heart I just couldn't believe it! Let me know how you get on with your scan! Will be thinking of you! xx

Hey ladies - did you have your 8 weeks scans on the NHS? I'm 8 weeks now (i think) but have not got my booking app until the 2nd Feb so I still don't know when I am going to have my scan.

Thank you x x x

Hi, I did have my scan on the NHS. I saw my GP on Monday and given my history of m/c I asked if I could have an early scan, so she booked it for me. I don't see my midwife until 20th Jan but my GP was happy to sort it when I confirmed the pregnancy with her. My midwife will sort out my 12 wk scan. I think anyone can have an early NHS scan if you have any cause of concern (pain/bleeding) or undue anxiety (previous miscarriage).

xx

That's so nice that you heard the heartbeat. We just saw it but she didn't put the sound on...wish I had asked! Although I didn't cry at the time, I did cry when I called my mam to tell her that everything was ok- lol xxx
