Anyone planning a holiday in 2nd Tri?

We have been thinking about going away, we usually go long-haul but the flight seems so far. I can't think of anywhere warm closer though, in Feb or March, and we don't want to go to Egypt/Middle East. Has anyone flown long-haul when pregnant before? We may just end up taking a break in this country later on!

I'm going to Lanzarote on the 11th Feb - I'll be nearly 17 weeks when we go and can't wait for some sunshine.

Yes that's exactly how I feel - need some vitamin D too! We are looking at cruises in the Caribbean as I thought it would be a great way to see lots of places without having to do a lot! I just don't know how I feel about the 8+ hour flight, I'll have to do a bit mroe thinking.

I flew to Barbados over xmas no problem, I was about 10 weeks. They gave me an extra legroom seat ;-)

Second tri is the best time to go!! go for it...keep moving, drink lots of water and dont go to a malarial zone. Life doesnt stop when we get preggers ;-)

We will be going somewhere, just not sure where yet!!

We travelled 14,000 miles to Hawaii and back when I was in the 1st tri, and I had full-on morning sickness. The trip wasn't too bad, because you change flights so it doesn't feel too long because of the breaks.

Have you thought about the south of Spain or Italy? They have good weather all year round. We are travelling to Malaga tomorrow, and I heard they have around 20 degrees at the moment

we did Cascais in Portugal in March 07 and it was lovely - its like the Cornwall of Portugal so not full of Brits like the Algarve, also very preggers friendly and flight to Lisbon is just 2.5 hours and less on way home! Not sure bought this time as have toddler in tow now so not quite the same IYKWIM still thinking of going back again tho...

We're thinking of doing a short 3 day weekend trip to New York City late this spring. We went a few years ago and loved it and would love to go again before we have a LO to bring with us. DH just started a new job though and not sure about whether he'll be able to take the time off yet.

trip to the sun

I'm planning on travelling short haul to lanzarote for some early year 2nd tri sunshine!!!

Thought I'd better get some travelling in before the bump grows too big for comfort and then it's battling down the hatches for the final tri. It's pretty certain I won't be going very far once sprout arrives in the Summer.

Four hour flight there and back but think avoiding this snow and -15c temperatures will be good for the soul.

I'll be making sure I've got travel insurance and let the airline know i'm pregnant though just to be on the safe side.

No winter training road cycling for me but hopefully some good food, warm rays and chilled out vibes.
