Hi,

I am new to this forum. I am from Australia and am now 8 weeks and 2 days pregnant according to my scan last week. I am a bit confused though because when I went for my scan it should have said that I was 8W 2D but it came back as 7W.......I am so worried.

The reason I am worried is that I had a missed M/C last year. When I went for my first scan it was showing me 2 weeks behind my dates, and when I went for the second scan my baby had died (at 11 1/2 weeks). So I had a D&C in late October and had some strange cycles until finding out I was pregnant last month.

So I am worried sick about this baby (as you can imagine), because it sort of feels like de ja vue. I have my next scan in 4 days time, so will no for sure then.

This is my 4th Baby, so I am finding this pregnancy very hard to hide. I have popped out big time, and my boobs are getting big too. So I have to hide from everyone (even my mum who is not very keen on me having a 4th baby).

Anyway, I would love to hear from any of you who have had similar experiences with the dating scans being wrong according to your LMP and what actually happenened to you. I had an internal one so I believe it is pretty accurate.

I am in Melbourne.

Yep, they found a heartbeat which is good. I also saw the HB from the last pregnancy which ended in MC as well. Maybe that is why I am so worried.

Good luck, we will be thinking about you! I think once you get past the 11-12 weeks you will have some relief.

It could just be a small baby and thats why they put it back a week.
I hope everything is ok for you.
I know how you feel I had a miscarrage in November and I am really scared this time round.

Many women miscarry a pregnancy once in their life.

I know you're worried but if you had 3 kids before,I'm sure you'll be just fine...

I can understand you feeling so worried hon, but try not to too much. I'm glad you saw the hb. Hope it all goes well x x

Hmmm... I know if it within a week out they don't bother and don't change your date. Mine did that, only the other way round. Was bigger than what it should've been. But only by a few days.

At least you have another scan soon. Can understand why you're so frightened. Try not to be and relax.

Welcome, Congrats and don't worry! My scan was 2 weeks out untill my 12 week scan! I had a scan on a Tuesday and I was measuring 7WK then one on the Thursday (because I was bleeding) and I was measuring 8WK. I should've been 9. The measurements before 12 weeks are inaccurate. My baby is perfectly fine she's just on the small side.
