| Working out due date Hi,
I may be being a little premature here as I only got my positive on a clearblue digi today (!) but I've been wondering how the due date is worked out. I know that the docs always ask for the 1st day of your last period but how is that accurate when ovulation may've taken place 2-3 weeks after that?
The 1st day of my last period was 19th Feb, so would they go from that to work out how far along I am? Thing is, my cycles are 35 days long and I'm sure I ovulated around 9-12 March, so that would only make me 15 days pg at best...
Am i being totally stupid here???!!!!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Hi! Congratulations!!!
I got my BFP on 1st March - my cycles varied from 38-47 days so I worked out my due date from a 42 day cycle and found I would be due on 5th November. However, when I spoke to the midwife, she is going from the date of my last period - putting me 2 weeks ahead of actually where I am and giving me a due date of 22nd Oct?!?! HAd an early scan due to spotting and they put me at a due date of 8th Nov. Midwife is still going with original dates! Not sure if this helps at all really! Just thought I'd let you know my situation!
P.S. Welcome to the 1st trimester!!! | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | They will use the date of your last period at first then they will confirm/change it at your 12 week scan, at least that's how mine worked. By my LMP date I was due 7th June and by the scan its the 14th June. Hope thats of some help xXx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's 40 weeks from the first day of your last period or 38 weeks from the date of conception. No ones due date is 100% accurate. If you go on google and type "due date calculator" they can work it out for you. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | For me it was quite accurate because my cycles were very regular due to the fact I was on the pill.
My doctor confirmed what I calculated...
But you should calculate it roughly now and then your doctor will say for sure when your due date is..
Congrats! |
