even if your heart rate seems raised this may not be the case.
I get this too and when I took my BP about half hr ago the reading was normal...
Your hearts just pumping more blood, it doesnt mean increase bp or anything like that. x

Yes this is happening to me...I agree that I think it's just the extra blood your heart is pumping, but it can't hurt to have your bp checked.

yeah, this is happening to me too. It seems worse at night when I lay down - very scary. I have had this once before in a previous pregnancy which I sadly lost. I had an ECG and it was all ok. They told me it was down to extra blood and also extra pressure on your heart. Best thing to do is take deep breaths count to five and blow out for the count of five. This should relax you and keep you calm. I know its unsettling but I doubt its anything serious, just get your bp checked next time you see your mw to be sure xx

This happened to me on and off for a few days around weeks 6/7. I would be doing next to nothing and suddenly my heart would start racing and I'd feel a bit breathless. I have a bpm monitor, so I checked once while it was happening and it peaked at 115bpm - my normal resting rate is about 70bpm. It only lasted a few minutes at a time and then things would suddenly settle right down again.

I checked with my MW when I saw her a few days later and she wasn't too concerned. Told me to let her know if it continued to happen but it never did again, at least not that badly. I still feel a slight increase in heartrate after going up the stairs sometimes, but it's nowhere near as bad and I've not had it hit me out of the blue again.

It's probably just your body adjusting in fits and spurts and once it's gotten on top of things it won't happen as badly or so often.

I noticed that at around 8 weeks. It was especially bad when I was trying to go to sleep, it felt like my heart was in my neck! I mentioned it to my MW as she assured me it was normal, my BP was checked and that was fine.
