This is probably going to sound daft but i'm scared of sleeping on my side. Will it do the baby any harm? I can only get to sleep on my side no matter how hard i try. I'm scared if i sleep on my right the baby is going to be on it's head and it will hurt it. But when i sleep on my left it hurts, as i discovered in my scan it seems to be slightly more towards my left. This is prob jus another silly fear but does anyone know if it's safe or what i can do to protect baba?
It's better for you to sleep on your side verse your back when pregnant. They suggest the left side, but I'm sure sleeping on your right side is doing NO harm to your baby

Agreeing with VanWest, it's supposed to be best to sleep on your side. Obviously most people have to switch sides quite ofen. Especially later in pregnancy because it starts to get very concomfortable to stay in the same position. I even have to lay on my back for a few minutes sometimes to stop it hurting but baby is safe and happily floating in it's water. At 12 weeks baby probably can't even feel the pressure on the side you're laying.

Thanks girlies, it's a bit of a releif to know that. I just keep thinking how uncomfortable it must be if it's on it's head or the damage i could be doing to it's brain/neck or back
I posted a month or so back worried about hurting my baby because his head was poking out and I was poking it for ages wondering what it was before I realised. I don't think it's very easy to hurt our babies though because they're well protected.
Yup it would be very difficult to hurt them in our sleep, if you can sleep on your left side it is best, as the blood and oxygen flow to the baby are at their optimum.
