Hi guys, it's my last day in first trimester so looks like ill be moving/swapping boards!

I've just one quick question before i go! So far i've seen my midwife several times-had blood tests, bp checked etc and had my first scan to see baby. But i i havent been offered to hear the baby's heartbeating yet-when will i be able to? Im seeing the midwife again in just under two weeks time, so should i ask then? Its one thing im looking forward to you see.

Awww your little 'p' is due on my birthday. Good luck with rest of pregnancy. I think you should ask, there is no harm in asking!

You should probably be able to hear the heartbeat at the next appointment. A lot of MW won't try until after 16 weeks or so because it is very difficult to hear the heartbeat prior to this (and it makes some women very nervous when they can't find it). See you in second tri!!

You should tell your mw that you want to hear it.

Congrats on reaching the 2nd trimester. Ask the mw to try and find the heartbeat, but remember, it's still quite difficult to find early on, so don't panic if they don't

I had to ask at 12 weeks and she said not to get my hopes up as baby is still very small and in my pelvis so it´ll be hard to pick up, Heard it though, although it was very faint. See you in the 2nd tri X

Thanks for the replies, i keep hearing of people hearing the heartbeat early on-so i just assumed that was normal! Im not too worried about it now then. I will ask about it though, to see what they say!
