Not the reaction i would have hoped for!

Hi all, need some kind words from somewhere!!
Dad just told me his doggie is pregnant, i asked how long she would be pregnant for, he said 'oh only 9 weeks!! Better than 9 months isn't it!' So i replyed yeah just a bit! 'I have got that to look forward to' so he said 'oh your pregnant again' in a flat tone then he said 'right i will bring the easter eggs up on friday'

I know it's silly but i only wanted a congratulations! Really upset!!!
Dont have a mummy so i wanted my dad to be more supportive and now i cant see the keybord because of my tears x x x

Dads are often like that. My dad made out as if I was single and still a teenager when I told him I was pregnant. It made me really angry. My step dad said nothing at all and my uncle who is actually my closest father figure was much more tactful but still made it clear he was worried.

It just seems to be a guy thing and women are the ones who seem to get excited. Don't let it get you down. Do you have friends or other family members you can talk to instead of your dad?

I'm an expert in that area unfortunatly...

I have support in my friends, baby's dad and sister but my parents....
They are the definition of absent parents...And when I told them I'm pregnant they cut me out completly.
Ok,I am a teenager and single but I'm responsible, pretty mature and I take good care of my life,go to a good college, have a nice job...and all I ever needed from them was their support and involment.
I saw them twice in the last year, last time I told them I was pregnant and now they don't want to see me at all...

And although they are such crappy parents,I still want them to be proud of how far I've come and support me when times are hard...
So,I understand how you're feeling, but only they can change themselves,we can do anything about it...
