Hi Bec L I'm hoping to carry on as long as Alfie wants to, he's a real boobie monster so i'm hoping my milk won't suffer too much!!!! He still nurses to sleep and likes a few feeds a day i don't think he'll ever stop lol i'm pretty certain i'm gonna need to tandem feed

Aww thanks. Funnily enough, if Poppy had been a boy she would have been Alfie!

Poppy is showing no signs at all of weaning off the boob, in fact her feeds seem to have increased recently I do find it a little bit draining at times, espcially the night feeds. Last night she was up 3 times, crazy!!

Also have started with sore nipples in the last few days so feeding is quite uncomfortable. Hope that won't last.

Had sort of hoped Poppy might have weaned off before the new baby comes but can't see it happening. How does our milk regulate for the new baby when we're still feeding our toddlers??

Alfie still wakes about 3 times a night every night we part cosleep so me and DH have just been to buy a superking bed cos he's starting to take over the double lol

Your milk basically prioritises the new baby so your milk goes back to colostrum when new baby comes, sometimes well before, differs for every woman so nothing set in stone as it seems to be with everything to do with pregnancy!!!! Some women notice their milk drying up a bit too as boobies prepare for the new baby but its basically a wait and see what happens.

My nipples aren't sore yet but they always got sore around ovulation which was handy so i knew when to bed haha I'm really hoping if they do get sore they won't stay sore for long, thats for sure!!

I honestly don't think i could wean Alfie he would scream blue murder if he didn't get his nighttime feeds!!! He starts daycare next week as i'm returning to work in January so maybe he'll drop some feeds then (i doubt it tho).

Wow three times every night is tough, especially when we need our rest more than ever! Yeah am with you on the screaming! At least when Poppy is up in the night I know I can usually get her back off in 5 mins with a quick feed. Wouldn't be an option to try anything else

I went back to work 2 days a week in October. Poppy isn't bothered about milk in the slightest when I am not there, but on the days I am off she wants at least a couple of times in the day.

That's interesting about the colostrum. Just can't understand how that will all work but then the body does some amazing stuff so I guess we'll all just adapt somehow!

Hi Ladies I was going to post this very same thread so it's great to see that there are other pregnant Mum's still feeding. I've been bf for 2 years and 9 months now and have given up trying to give up as it is too traumatic! I too have a real booby monster but when you know it calms them down instantly it's hard to refuse. I've read that your milk changes at around 4 months pregnant and a lot of toddlers don't like the taste so maturally self wean, time will tell!!
I've had 3 mc and an ectopic over the last 12 months so I'm feeling a little nervous at the moment, I was worried that bf may have caused the mc but the Dr said it wouldn't so FX that this little bean sticks.
