I'm Currently Feeling: | What can I expect? I have my first appointment with the midwife on tuesday (18th) But I was just wondering what I could expect to happen at the appointment. Any help will be very much appreciated. I'm so excited it's making it all seem real |

I'm Currently Feeling: | Well,I don't have a midwife,so I don't know.
This is how it worked in my case:I had a doctors appointment where he confirmed my pregnancy, then I made an appointment at my ob/gyn at 8 weeks and she made a complete examination...Blood pressure, blood tests and a 3D scan...
But you should wait till someone who has a midwife answers you...
Good luck!xxx |

I'm Currently Feeling: | At the booking in appointmeny with your midwife, they're basically setting the 'baseline' if you will. They find out your weight, bloodpressure, family medical history, bloodtype.... blah blah.
They take bloods to check for your immunity to illnesses and things like HIV...
And just have a general chat with you, to find out your concerns and answer any questions you may have.
It's handy to write your questions down before you go, as I always forgot everything I wanted to ask until 30 secs after I'd left the Midwifes office !!
You'll get a folder which will record all of your subsequent visits, and lots of leaflets on different subjects surrounding pregnancy.
Good Luck & Congrats |

The doctor may ask you some questions about your health history, etc. too. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | At my first doctors appointment (it was with my GP) after my BFP the only test that they did was to send me for bloodwork. They asked a ton of questions though, background on me and my DH, what hospital we'd like to have the baby at, if we were going to do the triple testing, etc. At 10 weeks she did a physical on me and than referred me to my OBs office. |

I'm Currently Feeling: | My first m/w appt was at 7 weeks and bascially I filled in loads of forms and they took my history, gave me a pregnancy pack and that was about it. My booking in appt will be at about 12 weeks. |
