| New here - Feeling ill, possible urinary infection. Hello ladies (and gents, if there are any here!)
I am new here, although have been reading your posts for a few weeks!
I am currently 9 and a half weeks pregnant (I think!).
I have been feeling really poorly the last few days...backache, major muscular aches and pains, chesty cough and cold, vomiting all day yesterday. Went to see the nurse today and she said I possible have a urinary infection which could be causing the aches and pains and I have a high temperature. Got to go back tomorrow to check urine.
Problem is, I took two strong paracetamols yesterday and I am worried that I have damaged the baby somehow as all my pg symptoms seem to have disappeared today! Hardly any nausea and boobs are no longer sore. What do you all think?
I promise that I am normally a very rational person but all this pregnancy malarky makes you super paranoid, doesn't it?!
Anyway, thanks in advance girls. | | | | Status: Offline

I'm Currently Feeling: | Welcome to the forum. I believe paracetemol is safe to take during pregnancy (in moderation of course!) It's not uncommon for symptoms to come and go at random (disconcerting I know!) Congratulations and I hope you continue to feel better! |

I'm Currently Feeling: | It's safe to take paracetamol, but nothing stronger. Paracetamol doesn't cross over to the baby, whereas ibuprofen does. Definetly take paracetamol if you have a temp to bring it down.
If it keeps on, go back to the docs, and they can give you some antibiotics safe in pregnancy.
Otherwise, rest, drink lots of fluids, and put your feet up
Hope you feel better soon
And Congratulations |

| Thanks for your advice. I am going to the doc's again in a bit so I'll see what he says. Just hoping I start to feel more healthy soon so I can enjoy being pregnant! x | | | | Status: Offline
