| totally stuffed up blocked nose This is driving me crazy, is anyone else suffering same - does anyone have any tips to help?
I used to have a constantly blocked nose until a few years ago when I had an operation to change this, felt like a new woman after until now, its back with a vengeance
ive read that its quite common in pregnancy, think I could cope during the day if it didnt keep me awake at night!! When I am sleeping im snoring really badly and OH is forever poking & prodding me to stop then once im awake im sneezing, sniffing, runny nose etc & it take ages to get back to sleep - this can happen 2 or 3 times a night im like a zombie at work during the day! | | | | Status: Offline

| Not sure...but when I was sick last week with clogged sinuses I would rub a little bit of Vicks Vapour Rub right underneath my nose so I would breathe it in. | | | | Status: Offline

| i am a fan of nasal sprays, but they have not been tested for use in pregnancy so i went to boots and bought a saline nasal spray which is ok, not as good as the ones that clear you up straight away but if you use it with a bit of vicks rub or something it is better than nothing | | | | Status: Offline

| You could try putting a couple of drops of olbas oil into a bowl of hot water and inhaling or just hot water alone if u don't want to use olbas oil. Put a towel over your head and get a box of tissues at the ready. It's not very feminine but sure works for me!! :-) | | | | Status: Offline

| I think I've picked up a cold from somewhere...I've had a little bit of a runny nose since my BFP, but the past few days I've gone to full blown congestion, scratchy throat and using HUNDREDS of tissues... Standing in a steamy room might help... I don't know if I can get Olbas Oil over here, but I'm gonna try or maybe get some Vaporub and have some in a bowl of water in the bedroom...
Hot water with honey and lemon could help... It's generally good for you anyway!

xx | I've got a really rotten cough and cold myself and was so disappointed when I couldn't reach for my usually dependable friend ibuprofen!!
OH has been lovely making me hot honey and lemon drinks but the lemon has burnt my lips!! They're really dry, crispy and sore now seems there's no easy solutions for illness in pregnancy! | | | | Status: Offline

| Yes me too. I've got a drip going on that has left one of my nostrils raw. I've been sticking vaseline up there trying to get it to heal. Hahha. I suffer from cronic nasal problems/infections so this symptom isn't surprising to me personaly. But I've found that a humidifier in my room is working to help and saline rinse for the sinuses as needed.
Good luck. Hope you find relief soon. | | | | Status: Offline

| I have also the same. It seems to be called Pregnancy Rhinitis. I have been having stuffy nose since week 5. Doctor gave me some antihistamine to stop the sneezing and running nose, but nothing for the congestion.
I found that sleeping on my side sometime helps. It allow one of my nostril to decongest, so that at least i can breath. | | | | Status: Offline

| i don't just get the sniffles and stuffy nose, i always get sinusitis. it's awful and i feel like i'm going to die!
last time i got this, i went to the dr and told him i was pregnant. she prescribed me an antibiotic that will not cause any harm to the fetus.
call the doctor and see what they can do for you. | | | | Status: Offline
