Baby measuring 2.5 weeks behind sac? Bad news?

Hello

Went for a scan this morning as had very slight bleed yesterday am. Scan measured sac at 8weeks 5days but baby only measured 6weeks 1 day and no heartbeat detected. Was told my uterus was tilted so not sure whether this makes it harder for heartbeat to be detected.

Been told to expect the worst but also that the heartbeat may not be detectable at 6 weeks? Dont know what to think anyone else had a similar situation?

Got another scan in a week to determine the outcome, just a waiting game now

It can be quite common to not see HB yet at 6 weeks. Also my friend had a tilted uterus when she went for her 12 week scan her womb was empty she was devastated....but actually it wasnt empty they just couldnt see the baby. The fact that they did see a baby measuring 6 weeks but an 8 week sac kinds throws a spanner in the works

i dont understand it the only thing i can think of is mmc (i hope not) but i really dont know im no proffesional your next scan will tell you more. Did they draw blood to check your hormone levels are increasing? all the best i hope its not bad news

thanks for your replies ladies, no they didnt take blood which I am a bit puzzled about? Think I am going to give them a ring tomorrow. x
