Military moms

I noticed in another thread we had a few military wives/significant others...and I'm sure there are more so I thought I'd start a thread to meet eachother!

My husband is in the Canadian Forces and deploying to Afghanistan (for the 3rd time now!) in May for 6 months. Good timing!!! pfft!

Oh honey that's no good! So he goes for a year without any leave? I figure it's got to be better that they miss the time that the kids don't remember, right?

Hi Ladies! My husband is in the U.S. Army and is deployed right now. He is on a 12 month tour (praying it doesn't get extended to 15 months!!!!!) and will be back for his 2 week R&R a few days after the baby is born. Then he will go back over and won't see our baby for another 7-8 months unless he gets extended Makes me so sad because this is our first child and he is missing out on everything with the pregnancy.
Honestly though, with being in the military and with deployments, there is never good timing. He will either miss the pregnancy or miss the first 12 months of the babies life so I shouldn't complain too much about our situation.
Hope you ladies are all doing great!!

I am in the military and an military wife as well. Always glad to meet others in the same situation. We need to support each other.

Where are you currently located? We're in Petawawa for the moment. Are you making out ok?

yea i suppose you're right. but i'm terrified of doing everything alone, you know? and yeah when they go out to sea he doesn't get any leave during that time. but i think he'll get leave before and after.
